Aligning in the Flow” Workshop on Saturday September 29!

Cost: $60 +GST

Sun Salutations are the foundation of “Flow” or “Vinyasa” classes. The Sun Salutations prepare us for a deeper practice and it is essential to find the best alignment for your body in each pose and through each transition to receive all the benefits. And there are so many! 

  • Invigorates and detoxifies the body

  • Expands the power of your breath

  • Heats, tones and stretches your muscles

  • Lubricates and protects your joints 

  • Reduces stiffness and soreness

  • Increases body awareness and coordination

  • Creates mental clarity and alertness

  • Helps you reconnect with your inner sanctuary through breath and movement

This workshop is for anyone who is new to yoga or who wants to refine their practice and raise their awareness. All levels are welcome! In the workshop we will:

  • Explore the Sun Salutations most commonly used in flow and vinyasa classes.

  • Find your “sweetest” alignment in each of the postures of the sequence.

  • Modify and enhance the postures to take your practice to the next level, even if you are struggling with physical issues, such as low back pain or shoulder issues.

  • Experience the effortlessness that embodies the flow of sunshine energy through the body/mind.

Denise Currie (ERYT500, YACEP, RMT) is an experienced adult educator and yoga teacher trainer. Her areas of study include anatomy and physiology, Holistic Yoga, Remedial Movement, manual therapy and Mind/Body Sciences. Her purpose in offering alignment workshops is to teach students how to:

  • find the strength and robustness within their own bodies 

  • create a respectful relationship with their body/mind

  • make intelligent choices that balance their practice

  • Understand and appreciate the wonderful instrument that is the body

2. Choose fitness 1, 2 or 3 times/week:
