Get fit where you sit!
Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair or standing using a chair for support.
Yoga has been shown to improve overall health when practiced regularly. As with many forms of exercise, it can be modified for people with varying abilities. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting on a chair or standing on the ground while using the chair for support. It is beneficial for people with limited mobility and for those who want to practice yoga at their workplace or at home. The benefits of practicing chair yoga poses include:
Improved flexibility: Flexibility allows us to do the activities we need to do from twisting while driving to bending over to play with children.
Better concentration: Incorporating breath work with the poses can help you stay focused on the present moment which calms the mind and can also improve mood and decrease stress.
Increased strength and improved balance: Bulding strength can help us prevent injury and improving balance can help us become more aware of our body and help to prevent falls and injury.
Reduced joint strain: Chair yoga reduces the strain on joints and muscles which allows someone who is unable to stand for traditional yoga an opportunity to practice too.
Portability and convenience. You can do chair yoga nearly anywhere you can find a place to sit!
Please note that this class is for anyone who would like to join us and/or has mobility issues.
Everything that you learn you can take home with you so you can practice what you learned on a regular basis.

Lots of freedom & convenience! How our passes work:
- If you decide on a 1 or 2 times/week pass, it will cover you through the entire session.
- You can switch it up every week if you want to try out or need a different class.
- If you miss a class one week, you can make it up within the session.
- Session passes are cheaper than the punch passes!
- We have our punch pass or drop in options for those with unknown schedules! Punch passes expire 2 months from the date of purchase. Sorry, no extensions.
- If you sign up later in the session, we can prorate a pass for you.
- Some of our classes are pre-registered/drop in so you can let us know if you are coming or just drop in!
- Some of our classes are pre-registered only so we need to know ahead of time if you are coming as this helps us to determine whether or not a class will run.
What's new at the studio...
As most of you know, this is Jasmin! She is a gem, a dear friend and also a fabulous team member that helps keep the studio running!
She is now offering reiki sessions at the studio! $65/session. Reiki is a beautiful healing technique offering beneficial, calming, balancing and stress-reducing effects.
Spring Session! March 3 to May 4 2019
Yoga for Beginners: Fridays @ 12:15pm (please pre-register)
Join us as we break down poses to help you learn and FEEL correct alignment in your unique body that will ensure long term stability, strength and safety for your joints and muscles. This class will help you develop healthy muscle memory so that when you are in poses, your body will have the opportunity to move toward strength, activation and balance effort with ease! You will be able to take what you learn and apply it to movements off of the yoga mat as well!
Fitness Fusion for Beginners: Fridays @ 11am
This class will encompass resistance training and exercises to improve cardiovascular fitness and core strength. You will learn to lift free weights correctly! Multi movement exercises will also be offered for a full body workout! Modifications can be given if needed.
Massage Therapy Balls & Yoga for Sleep: Fridays @ 5:15pm
This class uses therapy balls that provide targeted self-massage trigger point therapy by using specially designed high grip rubber massage balls and focused movement routines to help penetrate through layers of skin and muscle to massage deeply into your high tension areas.
Yoga Nidra for Deep Relaxation & Sleep (included in the 515pm class!)
Receive deep rest and restoration in this extremely healing practice.Yoga Nidra has been referred to as sleep yoga and it has been said that 30 minutes of it is equivalent to 4 hours of sleep. You will be guided as you rest, allowing your mind and body to slip into a deep state of relaxation. The brain switches from beta to alpha waves, signalling the transition from activity to rest. The practice can be used to calm the nervous system decreasing stress on the entire body. And if you have trouble sleeping, this can support your body to move into deeper rest.
We have extra props for you to use but you are welcome to bring your own blanket, eye pillow and whatever else you need for support.
Weight Training & Yoga Flow for Strength COMBO on Tuesday @ 530pm & 6:15pm!
Enjoy 30 minutes of weight training and then continue to build strength with an active flow class! Rinse it all out with some soothing stretching and relaxation at the end of class.
If you come to both classes you get a deal of $25 for 2! If you already have a yoga pass, drop in for weights is only $10!

Saturday April 6: A Celebration of Spring!
Mindfulness for Kids
Date: Saturday April 20 @ 12:15-2pm
In this class, kids will learn breathing, movement and other mindfulness tools to help them self-regulate when they are stressed both physically and emotionally. They will learn coping mechanisms to help with anxiety in stressful situations. This class will also help support kids to build their self esteem, restore their energy and help them relax and sleep better.
