Christmas at the Village is coming soon! We will be adding a special yoga class on Sunday November 16 @ 11am for this event.

Sleigh rides at the studio!

We are fortunate to have the horses coming by the studio on Friday November 28 to take people over to watch the fireworks! Then for Saturdays Dec 6, 13 & 20 the horses will be by after class at 11:30am to pick us up for a ride as well!

Restorative Yoga: Fridays @ 5pm

Restorative Yoga is a practice directed toward students who are injured, stressed or dealing with chronic health conditions. It is a ver

 y gentle practice to help with regaining mobility and range of motion that our bodies are naturally meant to have. The class involves a lot of props: blankets, blocks, straps, bolsters, etc. to totally support the body, allowing for deep relaxation and release. Poses can benefit specific health challenges as well.

When: Friday November 7-Friday December 20 (last class before Christmas). Cost: $95
We can only take 10 people (2 spots are already taken) due to prop availability and it takes some time to set up everyone. If you have props, please bring them as sometimes a single pose can use a ton of them! Please confirm your attendance with me and if 5 or 5:30pm works better.
I loved learning from Judith Lasater and how many gems she shared! Her words below ring really true:
"We can manipulate our nervous system with our poses...so be aware of the attitude with which you experience a pose (which is in turn, is reflected in your form of the pose). What residual effect do you wish to leave in your body? We aren't looking for perfection. We are looking for harmony."

 

Sattva Influenced Yoga with Ang on Saturday November 8 @ 10am

A dynamic and diverse Hatha Yoga sequence designed to bring balance, inner strength and energy to the practitioner in a fluid posture flow. Specific attention will be brought to creating a rhythm with the breath and a dialogue with the body. Practice will be closed with pranayam techniques and guided meditation to strengthen the lungs and centre the mind. This practice balances the body, breath and mind to leave you feeling blissful. (Please note that if you have bought a yoga package, it will cover these classes if you practice on a Saturday or you can drop in for $16)

Private Babysitting

We have private babysitting available during the Wednesday & Friday 9:30am class. Only 4 spots available during each class. Please email me if you wish to reserve a spot.

$4 per child (Age range 1-6). Full payment up front for desired session of babysitting will be required. Due to allergies, only fresh fruit or vegetable snacks allowed for those in babysitting.

Yin Yoga Class Description:

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice.

Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.

Nikki Henriksen has over a 1000 hours of yoga training. She has also studied Holistic Nutrition and Thai massage. She is currently enrolled at MHViscars in their Registered Massage Therapy Program. Over the last 11 years Nikki has been an active part of the Edmonton yoga community teaching at a variety of yoga studios.

Elenna is a long time yogini, with yoga training from India as well as Canada and the US. She is a certified Iridologist trained in nutrition, herbology, homeopathy and natural health. She brings much love to her students at every studio, with a wealth of knowledge of the whole body and being.
